Message: where is the thermostat located on a 1999 v-6 dakota sport?
a few times the temp needle would shoot up and so i cked coolant and there was NO coolant at all in radiator, this happened 2 months ago and when i filled it it was fine. then just yesterday it did it again and i cked coolant and bone dry again. i filled it in morning, and seemed ok going to work. on the way home from work it did it again AFTER i filled radiator this morning.
thats why im wondering if the thermostat is done , but i dont know where its located to ck it. i think i should get it pressure tested for leaks too cause why would it be losing antifreeze now and again?
any help ASAP would be great. i did look at the manual but couldnt see pics or info to where it is at so i can replace it.

Message: Sounds like you got one helluva leak...but follow the thick black hose that runs from the radiator and then angles straight downward in the middle of the engine. Where it meet the engine is where the thermostat is. If you look down in the little space/hole you'll see the thermostat housing and 2 bolts holding it down.
