Subject: radiator draincock IP: Logged
Message: hi everybody,
i can't find the radiator draincock on my 3.9 v6, dak 2000 sport. I need to replace the thermostat and want to drain a little coolant. the service manual mentions the drain cock but doesn't explain clearly where exactly it is located.
thanks,
andy

Message: i would'nt worry about the drain cock, to many problems from using it, i would recommend just disconnecting the lower rad hose and letting it all drain out from there, in order for it not to make a mess and be easier accessible i would remove the air box and also there is a splash shield held on with push clips underneith the vehicle directly under the radiator, that if taken off makes the job much cleaner and easier. also in order to take off the hose clamps i used a set of channel lock pliers to hold the spring clip while pulling on the hose itself.
My truck looks like it was in a knife fight, and lost! http://www.cardomain.com/ride/1275365

Message: What he said, but just for information, the drain cock is located on the driverside of the radiator very bottom corner.
