Subject: Stalling in Reverse!! IP: Logged
Message: Need some help here, my 97 dakota (V6 3.9L) recently started stalling in reverse. It seems to only stall after its been driving for about 20 mins or so. As soon as I shift to reverse the rpms drop to about 400 and it wants to stall unless i give it some gas. I just changed the trans fluid and adjusted the bands hoping this would solve the problem but it didn't. Any help would be appreciated.

Message: Clean your IAC solenoid on the back of throttle body...never seen it do that only after it's been running a while, but stalling when shifting into a different gear or putting it in neutral/park (anywhere where the idle drops) is often caused by a dirty IAC solenoid.

Message: No mods, already cleaned the IAC when doing the trans fluid. Seemed to help hold a steady idle in every gear but reverse. I'll check the O2 and MAP sensors.
