Subject: crank pos. sensor MPG? IP: Logged
Message: Does the crankshaft position sensor mod. increase fuel economy? Do you have to also use a 180deg thermostat after doing the cps mod? Sorry in advance if I am kicking a dead horse.

Message: I did both the crank sensor mod and using a SuperChips 87 octane program. No 180 stat. Mpg increased 1.5-2

Message: my truck rejected the crank sensor mod. I did it and any time i went above 4 grand the engine would cut off and let out a hell of a backfire. moved it back havent had another problem since. but i recommend doing the injector sync. if you need fuel economy that jumped mine a couple mpg's. also helped with power alot.

Message: you'll have to change your plugs if you haven't already. I had this mod but it pings like crazy if you go with the factory heat range plug. Mine did anyways. I got probly 1-2 mpg and gave considerable low end but seemed to take longer to accelerate. I put it back to factory. but if you want mpg than you're probly not worried about acceleration. Try it and see, you can always put it back.
