1/8 8.308 sec. @ 83.00 MPH
1/4 12.996 sec. @ 104.75 MPH
Im proud of my 6 banger even though I lost.

Message: 97 RC 2WD Auto W/ Transgo Shiftkit. I did lighten it, Reat bumper for fiberglass roll pan, lighter aftermarket tailgate, removed all heatshields, lighter Aluminum rims with Hoosier tires, fiberglass hood, removed excess weight in doors and cab. It has stock 3.55 gears for now. Trying to get it to The Dyno Man, his dyno is being hogged by his own Willys.

I would be interested in knowing what your dyno numbers are. I have a 1997 dakota v6 club cab with bedcap and it weighs in at 4300lbs. My guess is your truck with weight reduction ia 3500 lbs give or take a couple of hundred lbs. If you use the horse power calculator at the following web address:
http://www.speedworldmotorplex.com/calc.htm
using a weight of 3500 lbs and your 1/4 mile time and speed, it indicates you are putting out about 314 hp at the rear wheels and getting 370 at the crank. I know those figures are way off. Based on what you have you are about 200 hp at the rear wheels maybe a little more. The 99RT stock 250 hp with cold air intake maybe 265 to 270 at the crank. I'm a little skeptical on the numbers. There must be something missing.
92 and 97 Daks both with many mods.

Message: Here is a quote from duner off the v8 board on owning a stock RT and a 4.7 dark with mods:
"My '98 CC RT went 14.61 @ 94 mph bone stock. I've also driven bone stock RTs that run high 15s. As far as I know, my old RT was a one-of-a-kind truck. It had no rev-limiter or speed-limiter. No telling what else was different in the PCM.
On a test drive of a 4.7 5-speed I raced my 14 second RT and the 4.7 beat it! I was so impressed that I ordered a '00 CC 4.7 5-speed. When I got the new 4.7 it went 15.20s when it was 1 week old. 2 months later it got down to 15.0s - still bone stock. It went 14.80s (stock) with the only mod being a set of borrowed slicks. With mods, the 4.7 has gone 12.76 @ 107.77 mph."
I have a hard believing a dak v6 normally aspirated v6 even with a lot of mods can run 12.996. Larry's stroker ran a 14.4 at 97 at Union Grove his best numbers at the rear wheels 267 rwhp.
92 and 97 Daks both with many mods.

Message: Ok guys, I feel like an idiot now, just talked to my buddy that races at US 41 all the time in his mustang. He told me that last saturday when we were there his times were 2 seconds faster than the last 10 times he was there and his mph was also too high. He said the computer was messing up and estimating times wrong. So my time should have been 14.996, still not shabby. This weekeng I am going to Avilla raceway to try to get a correct time. I didnt know what to expect since that was my first time running at a strip, Ill get this cleared up Sat.

Message: bigdave,
There is no reason to feel bad. I'm glad you that your time was just under 15 seconds. I read on dakota-durango.com about once guy running a superchangeed 360 in Las Vegas that runs 14.7. Your 14.996 is very good for a v6 with your mods.
92 and 97 Daks both with many mods.
