Subject: engine won't start IP: Logged
Message: Does anybody know why when I tried to crank my 92 dakota this morning I got lights but the it wouldn't turn over. there is no sound at all coming from the engine when I tried to start it. one suggestion was the rotor in the distributer cap, is that a possiblity? Someone please help?!

Message: if it did not turn at all, it certainly is not the rotor. check your battery(read-load test) and all connections make sure they are clean and tight.

Message: alright I had the ignition switch and the ignition cylinder replaced. had the starter, battery, and alternator all tested and they all are okay. My new problem is that now that it's starting and running, it feels like its trying to stall on me. The Dakota has been probably sitting for a few days. Shes a 6-cly, 92, automatic trans.. It also feels like the it dosen't want to shift from 1st to 2nd without giving me problems. Any suggestions? Maybe a transmission service will help?
