Message: Yeah, I know the age since I replied last year.
I got a reply last night though, so I thought I'd post the bumper I'm selling. I changed the subject to bumper for sale hoping it would start a thread of its own but I guess not.
Take care
Tim

Message: The wipers stopped working. It sounds like the motor is OK but linkage may have come apart. How do I remove the panel outside next to the windowshield. I have all the screws out that I can find and the wipers removed but the panel seems to be hung up about midway?

Message: To answer the question on the wipers. First off there is a philips screw in the center of your cowl. remove this screw and your cowl will just come off. you will then have to remove the plastic screen under the cowl. that will get you inside the cowl. Concerning your wiper motor: unbolt the assembly and remove the cover on the motor. it should have 2 #20 torx screws holding it on and pull off this cover. Inside the cover there is a bushing in the end of the housing. start out spraying WD40 in the bushing and work the bushing untill it rotates freely. Place some air compressor oil in this bushing and let it soak overnight. In the meantime build a gasket out of .023 leather and paste it on the motor assembly with marine Goop where the cardboard gasket was. Be sure to cleen these surfaces with acitone. In the morning put a couple more drops of compressor oil in the bushing and make sure that the bushing can turn (a 1/4 inch screwdriver Craftsman number 41584 will work great for this). glue the case back on the assembly and secure the screws. the motor then will be ready to place back in the truck.

Message: On the subject of the gouge. there is only 1 way to fix this boo boo. and it is to use the bumpers own plastic to fix it. These bumpers are usualy made of #2 plastic (the same as a milk jug or pop bottle. Remove the bumper and with a flat tip on your soldering iron start building up the plastic over this area. You should have an additional .060 in of plastic over this area. you then can machine this area to the original level and the bumper will be as good as new.
