Subject: Glasspack? IP: Logged
Message: Ok, i really dont know that much about exhaust. But i do know that i now have a glass pack on there and it sounds way worse, then when i had no muffler, i have a whole load of friends with single and dual glass packs. Mine glasspack sounds like CRAP. is there anyway to make it sound meaner, and better? im
about ready to cut the CC off and run a straight pipe. Any suggestions guys? any help would be great!

Message: My friend's got a V6 Camaro with a glasspack turned backwards and it sounds pretty nice at lower RPMs...high RPMs sound like major rice, though you're gonna get that with most 4 and 6 cylinders.

Message: Dont cut your cat off, it will sound like crap with a glasspack. I did it because my cat went bad, a few weeks I got a new one. The sound can be improved with the size and length of the pipe after the glasspack, mine starts 3 inches from the cat. I also have duals after the axle. its quiet at idle with a deep rumble all the way up the RPM.

Message: Ive got a glasspack on my 1993 3.9 dakota and it sounds pretty good, its a 28 inch long Thrush 2 1/2 in and out with a glasspacked 3 inch chrome tip and a new high flow catco 3 inch cat, When you rev it up it has that v6 whine but when you let off it rumbles like a v8. And when I start it up near a car with an alarm it will set it off.

Message: I got the jba 3" cat back with the glasspack. Sounds real nice at low rpms, but to reiterate, at higher rpms it does sound ricey. But when that thing starts up, man it sounds great. Rumbles louder than the old man's 01 ram 1500/360. Although I heard glasspacks get louder as they get older because the glass burns off. Don't know how true it is, but my truck is still pretty loud. And to add another point- I just passed CT emissions with flying colors.
How deep can that pond possibly be?
