Hi, just bought me a 93 dak with a 3.9 v6. Problem is that the transmission 3rd gear is out and it leaks really bad which is probably why the gear is out. Anyway was trying to find a replacement for it it's a ax 15 manual. MY question is, would it be possible to take one of out a cherokee or wrangler swap the bellhousing ect and put it in my truck? I'm having a hard time finding one around here out of a dakota and having some more options would make it easier to find one. I tried finding someone to fix the current one but nobody around here wants to do it and I don't want to take it somewhere where it'll cost an arm and a leg to do. thanks.

I believe that the wrangler uses the AX15. Call a junkyard and ask them to cross-reference it for you.

I would do some internet searching. I am willing to say that dodge changed the gear ratios slightly between the dakota and the jeep. but i would say that the transmission will fit. and i may know somebody that has one out of a jeep, but not sure if its in good shape or not.

never thought of that, but I dont know why they would that would cost more wouldnt' it? make it more trouble rather than a multiple use part. I've already found and bought one at a local junkyard thanks though.
