Subject: Did Injector Sync, Getting Code P0133

I've been a lurker on this board for some time now and I've enjoyed learning new stuff about my Dak. I've always gotten decent gas mileage from my Dak but like others on here I am not very impressed with the power from the engine. It hasn't ever been a big deal for me but I always wanted a little more pep from the engine especially when accelerating onto interstate on ramps. My truck is a 2003 Quad Cab with the 3.9 V6. I did some reading on the boards here about doing the injector sync to help the engine out with the power from it so I did it.

The engine does have more pep now. It wasn't a night and day difference but I can tell that I am getting a better response when I step on the gas. I have a little over 43000 miles on the truck.

I installed a 180deg thermostat about a month ago in the truck. I did the injector sync about one week ago. Today I got a code set of P0133. I know this indicates a slow response from the O2 sensor ahead of the cat but I'm wondering could I have gone a little too far on the injector sync and caused this code to be set or is it more likely to be coencidence that the O2 sensor has just gone bad.

Also is there a way to reset the code in the ECM without a code reader so I can see if it sets itself again? I want to be sure I have a bad sensor before I replace it.

sounds like coincedince. to reset the pcm:
standing at the passenger side fender, look down at the pcm and unplug the connector nearest the firewall for about a minute or so then reconnect.

Thanks, I kind of thought it was coencidence myself because the truck is running so good since then but you never know with all of the computer controls geared toward emission control.

Reset the PCM and drove it many miles today. The code hasn't come back yet so maybe it was just a fluke that the code set itself in the first place.

yeah, i think the PCM just hiccupped. if the code comes back or you get a drop in mileage, change that O2 sensor.
