Subject: 4WD light ............. IP: Logged
Message: My 4WD light on the shifter console stays on even when it is not in 4WD. Any ideas? I am hesitant to take off the cover and boot because it seems pretty solidly attached. How is it removed, so I can take a look? Is it similar to the door panels and just snaps on and off?
Thanks,
Dave

Message: Do a search for the repair on this forum. You don't need to do anything to the bezel or boot. Your trouble is at the wheels. But since you asked, the bezel pops straight up and is held to an aluminum base with built in panel retainers that will break and make the bezel useless. What you will find underneath is a baseplate that holds down the boot. the lightbulb pops into a built in socket on the bezel. Nothing else there.

Message: I my light doesn't come on, so i bought the sending unit on the transfer case from the stealership, which didn't fix the problem. (the old one was fried anyway) I'll try replacing the bulb in the dash but anyway, maybe you're problem is with the sending unit.
