Which throttle body should I go with? I was looking at F&B's 48mm or 50mm. Any other suggestions?

Save your $$$ and get a V8 TB. I know I got an F&B, and plan on selling it once I can talk the wife in to a V8 swap. I felt NO differance with the F&B TB. The only thing I did to my truck that I could feel is the Superchip. If you are going to spend $400 buck by the chip it is WELL worth it.

I'm still a bit surprised, Luke. We'll have to look at that some time. Are you going to BTTF's next weekend?

F&B flow bench testing says the stock 5.9-L V8 throttle body flows 635CFM @ 25"Hg, the stock V6 TB flows under 600CFM. The F & B 48mm V6 TB flows 710CFM @ 25"Hg, the 50mm flows 790CFM @ 25", 52mm flows 860CFM @ 25"Hg.

Look at the data and pick one. 48mm is said to be the best for the V6.

Also make sure of your cable linkage, I bought a 48mm F & B TB for a 95 V6. Turns out my stock cable is a V8 Banana linkage not the stock 95 linkage. I have owned the truck since new and have 159,000 miles on it and never touched the TB. I purchased through Solcaldakota, Sam is the best and F & B are great also. Very helpful, I would buy through them in a heart beat.

The "banana linkage" was used on both v8's and v6's. It's more common on earlier v6 magnums. DC has been known to change mid-year.

Btw, it makes no sense to put anything larger than a 48mm on a stock v6 manifold. The manifold opening is only 47.5mm.

Thanks for the info guys. I was also thinking about changing manifold and heads somewhere down the road, although I have not found any heads on the net yet.

You won't find any manifolds. You have to rework your own or send it out. There are no aftermarket heads either. Those I would recommend sending out.

heh makes me want to try an fab my own intake manifold!!!

I guess from what someone showed me it isnt to hard. I would preferably have to tap the heads to fit the old style way though...

But no mon no fun... also no truck = no mon = no fun. heh

Do a search on the internet they have a lot of stuff on how to build ur own manifold
