Subject: K&N Air Intake

Since it was a fairly nice day today, I decided it was time to make my own cold air intake and move the Air intake sensor.

All in all, I would say it went pretty well. Aside from the fact that I got mad once or twice and managed to throw a few wrenches across the yard. I am happy with the whole progject. Even moving the air intake sensor was a breeze. Thank you Speedtweaks!!

The only problem I had was finding someone who knew where the plug was that I needed to fill the gaping hole where the IAT sensor went. From what I have read here, I wish we had a Home Depot around here, cuz the clowns who work at Menards can't tell you where anything is located, much less alone where their break room is.

Anyway...since it was too windy here, I decided I did not want to paint the pipe yet. Bought a can of paint from Finishmaster, matched to the color of my truck...so I am waiting on a nicer day to get here....I am going to sand and primer the pipe then paint it.

So for now I have this ugly white 3inch pvc pipe sitting in my engine compartment where the exsisting intake was. I was going to use ABS pipe, but again, Menards don't carry ABS pipe.

I still have some pinging when I stomp down on the gas pedal. So tomorrow I think I will try a new set of spark plugs. All ready changed the termo out....next will be a new muffler...decided I will let the local Midas Muffler install that. They can install faster than I can and have a way to do it with the car in the air...

Thanks for all the help and suggestions everyone! The cold air intake did make a differnce in the response....took the truck out for a test run and damn...it was quicker than it was....
