By far the most restrictive part of the stock intake isn't the filter element, it's the airbox itself. Sure the K&N flows a little better than paper, but you'll get way more benefit if you remove the snorkel and cut a bigger hole in the airbox. If performance is your goal then put a 4" tube to the front grille (CAI). On the other hand if you want maximum gas mileage just let it suck hot engine compartment air. And a bigger throttle body will give you both, highly recommended and easy to bolt on.
99 CC 3.9 auto, 3.55 LSD, 30" tires, V8 TB, 180 T-stat - consistently 24mpg @ 65mph (cruise control on, summer temps)

Message: I went with the 10" open element because I have plans to install a scoop at a later date.
I believe I paid $24.99 at advance on sale. I think regular price is $29.99. Check their website or call your local parts store.
comes with a filter that i will use when i wash my K&N.
