Message: I made a trip from atlanta georgia to raleigh north carolina. I'm happy with my gas milage. Driving up, I drove at speeds up to 90, average around 85. I got 20.5 mpg (2200-2400 rpm in the 85-90 mph range).
My truck is a 95 CC 4x4 3.9L V6 auto, 3.55 gears. All stock except K&N filter with edelbrock 10" round air hat. I ran without a/c and i have an xtang tonneau cover.

Message: What year is your truck? How many miles? Any modifications?
Mine is pretty much all stock except a few additions. I have autolight plugs and wires and a k&N filter sitting in a 10" edelbrock air hat.
In November of 2004 I was getting 12 - 15 regardless if I drove city or highway.

Message: I don't know how you figure you get that. There is no way. I have the same truck,95 ext cab. 4x4 3.9l. I have never got that kind of gas milg. My all around avg. is 16. Besides that, why own a under powered V-6,when a V-8 will give you the gas milg. I'm selling mine, and going back to full size. 1/2 ton,4x4,ext.cab with a 360!

Message: Figuring it is simple - gallons to fill / miles driven :D I check my milage at every fill up.
I've always gotten this kind of milage, except when I have a few issues that i started to correct in november of last year. Now it runs as good or better as the day I bought it.
I bought the truck used in 1998 and it had 39k miles.
I should add return trip back, I got 19.6 mpg. This was with the tonneau rolled up and a seat and a half recliner taken apart laying on top of each other under a tarp tied down near the cab. speed was averaging 80 - had to slow down for some rain :D

Message: Well, I'd be skeptical of that mileage at 85 mph; but I get nearly 21 mpg at 65 mph, on a 92 Dak club cab 4WD 4-spd auto V-6 with cap. Mine has only a K&N drop-in; all stock otherwise. I expect to get nearly 1 mpg improvement whe I do the fuel sync and timing mods.

Message: With the tonneau on and driving 60 (before mods) I got 25 mpg. I haven't driven only 60 mph in a while :D
On occasion I work 5a - 2p so I drive with alot less traffic here in the Atlanta area. I get around 19 mpg working this shift for combined city and highway (17 miles highway, 5 miles city each way). I never hit the brakes because of traffic heading in, often don't exceed 60 for the first 8-10 miles (5-6 highway) on the return trip home at 2-3 pm.
I'm a believer in synthetic oil, seafoam and engine flush service.

Message: I just did a round trip from Connecticut to Kentucky over the weekend. In my 2005 3.7 QC I averaged nearly 18 mpg at 75mph. It's only got 4000 miles on it so far and is getting better every day. I'm looking into a cap for the back which should help a little more.
My city mileage is around 16mpg.

Message: I just finished all the stuff i wanted to do to my 2000, 3.9ltr, dakota. Headers, Airaid, T/B spacer, cat back, MSD wires, 180 degree thermostat and summit cap and rotor. I have 68,000 miles on it and still need to change all my fluids to Amsoil, did the diff today. Anyway the city mileage with the a/c running went from 17/18 to 21/22. Haven't done any road trips yet, but excited to see what it gets. I'm hoping for 26 or maybe more.

Message: I can get almost 20 MPG with a Tonneau cover at 80-85. City is almost 17 w/o the cover. I need to do something to up the mpg... my last vehicle was a Civic. That 35 mpg is looking pretty sweet right about now.
