got a '92 v8 TB before reading some of the threads here. my 2003 v6 and just throws a p1494 code after the swap--no idling problems at all.

wanna know if anyone else has swapped TBs and found a way not to thow a code. just weighing my options: mod the '92 TB so it doesn't cause a code, or (last resort) sell it and get a >94 v8 TB

I've just modified one and waiting for the results now. The truck threw a code every 200 miles. I was told that it has passed that point and no code so far. If it works I'll post details on the mod.

For now, if the light doesn't bother you too much, just enjoy the added power.

dak0ta g33k,

I not sure if putting the "92" throttle-body will work on you 92 that well. The 92-95 has an EGR valve on the truck. Anything from 96 and up should work ok with your truck, no EGR valve associtated with it and also the 96 and up seup as OBD-2. The 92 thru 95 trucks are OBD-1. My son has a 92 dodge dakota and he tried a fastman for a 1997 dakota on his truck and it would accelerate fine and it had plenty of power. Sometimes he would get a strange idle problem. We ended up putting a 94 v8 tb (out of the salvage yard) on his truck to solve the isling problem.

92 and 97 Daks both with many mods.
