Subject: TOWING??? IP: Logged
Message: does anyone have any suggestions on a cheap towing capacity upgrade? even with a small load my truck squats really low. i was told so far that air-adjustable shocks should do the trick. any comment would help. thx!

2002 dakota sxt
3.9L V6 2WD
standard trans.
single cab
reese L5 hitch

Message: I know Autozone sell's "Helper springs",that just rest under your egisting leafs. No change in ride,but what a difference in load capt. I think they were about $20-$30 bucks. Cheap but very effective.

i've seen people on here mention it and swear by it. doesn't affect ride unitl loaded and adjustable too.

Message: Yeah, go to Autozone and get the whole leaf helper, It bolts on with 2 U bolts. Very simple and effective. I have them and am very happy for 30 bucks.
