Message: As long as you do not get any ping yes there are
trucks running the tunner with the crank sensor
mod and running fine
You just have to try it and find out you can
always back off
The timming on the V6 is weak to say the least
Base is 10 I am at 14 with the jet 2 and the
relocated IAT at idle the advance moduale is at
17 versis the 10 with no mods

Message: i know that Xmr uses the supertuner in addition to the crankshaft position sensor mod. He has used both the 87 and 93 programs with the cps mod, along with the PVI injector system he has used 89 with the 93 program with very good results.
92 and 97 Daks both with many mods.

Message: I have followed Larry's advise on many of the modifications he has recommended. On the 97 models their is no supertuner available, so the next best thing to run is a jet-chip, and cps mod.
Larry do you run your external IAT sensor just during hot weather, just curious.
92 and 97 Daks both with many mods.

Message: Yes I have 2 IAT sensors and a switch in the cab
to switch back and forth
I had it in the factory air tube by the radiator
sadle and could not run it below 50 degrees now
I moved it 6" from the TB in the bottom of the
K&N 14X3 and can run it down to 0 with the ram
air and no codes
It reads around 75 at 0 degrees 90 to 110 70
80 degree weather but at 30 below I run the stock
located IAT or I get a IAT volts to high code
But you have to remember the Jet 2 chip also
lowers that reading about 30 degrees also
Relocating the IAT is a great mod but you do need
to locate were you will pick up some engine heat
any readings below 50 degrees will trip a code
6" from the body above the motor works great if
you go to far away the motor will run doggie
reading to cold the 6" seams to be a sweet spot
on all the trucks reading around 100 over the
180 200 in the stock location
Unless you live were it never gets to cold than
yes move it out were it gets a nice cold air blast
that is why some people have bad resaults wit the
relocate they just get to far away form any heat
readings from 75 to 120 is what you want for best
resaults and give it time to learn the new IAT
readings if after 200 miles it don't improve
move it back
