Message: I just purchased a 97 Dakota from my FIL estate. It sat for 3 plus years. I have had the tensioner replaced and a new belt. I have also put new tires on it.
I want to know what else if anything I need to do to the engine, or truck itself.
Oh, I did change the oil and changed it again after 500 miles. The truck is getting 17 mpg and seems to run just fine.
Thanks for the help.

Message: drop the pan and change transmission fluid, could be some condensation in there, same for the rear diff fluid.
maybe new coolant, new battery, check the hoses they might have started to crack
