Message: Hey guys, cool site.
I recently bought a Dodge Dakota and am liking it. Its a cool truck. ( Well, at least mine is ) However, I bought it for cheap and I am just figuring out why.... It has 175000 mile on it and a lot of things are either "breaking-down" or are so old that I simply have too replace them.
Here's what I have replaced:
1.oil pressure sensor
2.Fuel filter
3.Brakes, rotors, drums,
4.4x4 Front bearing assemblies
5.washer pump
6.Plugs and wires
7.Tires
8.And many more....
So, basically I am reconditioning the truck that is a 3.9L 4x4 1989 Dakota. I have started the process and am continuing to do so. But a few things come to mind. One being: Is the truck/engine gonna last much longer...( no oil leaks, no power but seems? adequate )...with 175,000 miles.? Wondering if any others out there have a V6 thats outlasted 200,000 without major overhauls.?
And further, while I am replacing whatever's needed, I ask if there is any thing that is essential to help keep my truck going.... like time chain, etc..?
Thanks Phil
