Message: Well the subject is 3.9 no power so I guess that would be the engine size. Yea the 3.9 is infamous for its power..or lack there of. Yea there's a few popular things that's been brought up on this subject. Basically what Doug's stated is the more popular and probably cheapest. Dunno yet cuz I got the same prob and am just waiting to have some spare cash to start.

Message: yes, the EASIEST (and most expensive) way to more power is a new truck. but to answer your question, can something be done to the 3.9 to increase the power? why yes! search this site - there are many mods (V8 throttle body), cold air intake, headers, exhaust.... the list goes on. Also, the entire original Magnum engine line was easily upgraded with parts right from Direct Connection/Dodge. They included: different air cleaner, different computer, headers, exhaust, and maybe a cam (my memory is failing, so I'm not sure) On the 5.2 I think you could get an extra 40-50hp. not sure of the gain on the 3.9 Just do some searches right here!

Message: Even if you bolt on every device ever made for the 3.9 and upgrade the exhaust, expect no more than a 20RWHP gain.
On a 4x4 the V6 is a pig iron.
If you want to get esay horsepower without buying a bunch of junk that is marginal at best, the only solution is a blower. Expect to pay about $4000.00.
Or....trade the truck for one that is not a slow pig.

Message: ace,
theres people around these forums pulling alot more then that. A V8 TB, exhaust, and intake will get you 20+ right there. Larry from J & J auto is putting out closer to 245hp @ 300ft/lbs out of his 3.9. Stock is 175hp/225ft

What the He** is wrong with you people.
You buy a truck with a six cylinder in it, then you want more power. Please stop it already!!!
