Subject: Towing & Vacation load IP: Logged
Message: Hey all, little input please. I have an 03 V6, 5-speed Dakota with about 13k miles on it. I'm planning a vacation soon and I'd like to take my double trailer of JetSki's one ski is 640LB, the other is 440LB, and the trailer is a full size aluminum trailer I guess ~ 300-400LB. I'd also like to load my motorcycle into the bed, its a 600+LB BMW K1200RS. I plan to go from sea level to about 5500FT of eleveation and go visit my brother in the moutains. It's a great area to ride and an awesome lake nearby.
Do you think I will have any isses towing all this at one time with thsi truck? Anything in partcular I should do to prepare. The truck is stock except for a magna flow mufler and a drop in K&N filter.
The elevation change is pretty steep I suspect %5 grades.
Is there and aftermarket "tow" chip" for this truck and if so will it really make in impact?
I appreciate your input. Thanks

Message: It should handle it with no problem. Just keep the engine reved up and don't let it lug down.
Before you leave check your cooling system and brakes. then just enjoy a nice trip.

Message: You should not have a problem towing. If you are curious, you can look up your exact towing limit in your manual or look it up at www.trailerlife.com regardless, you will be towing around 2500lbs - which is no reason for concern. Have fun!!!
