i just put a reman 3.9 v6 w\roller lifters in my dakota and i've been told that untill it breaks in that it will idle high. well i've got a little over 1200 miles on it and it is still idling high after it warms up. after i start it, it idles around 1100 rpms and Once i drive it, even a little bit and put it in park it idles around 1500. the old motor died just before i went to the desert last may so it had been sitting for almost a year so now when i'm driving around 45 mph it'll shift gears pretty hard. the rest of the gears are fine though. HELLLPPPPPP!!!

sorry, i didn't even notice i left the year out. It's a 97'. the motor going out is my own stupidity. i'm kind of learning the expensive way about mechanics. I have a feeling that my next lesson will be my tranny. I can all ready feel my wallet being tuged on. But i'm active military and i don't have the time for school so this is how i've got to do it. Oh well, live and learn right. thanks
