Hello all, I recently posted a question maybe month or so ago about my 2000 Dodge Dakota 3.9l stumbling in the rain. This is the only time it does this. I have replaced the distribution cap, rotor, plugs, and wires hoping that it would solve the problem... no dice... So I am wondering if the coil needs to be replaced. I did a search of past posts and came up with Accel's 140021 and 140021ah harness for the 98+ models. Are there any other direct replacement coils available for these trucks? Is the there anything else i should look at before trying to replace this coil? One additional note, i have discarded the the rubber flap for my homemade air intake which could be the problem for getting moisture inside the unit, but I did use the clear grease for all connections and especially on the coil to coil wire. Any suggestions??

Doing a side by side comparsion of the the Accel and MSD.

MSD 8228
Primary Resistance: 1.2 ohms
Secondary Resistance: 13.7K ohms
Maximum Voltage: 35,000 volts
Inductance: 8mH
Turns Ratio: 70:1

Accel 140021
Primary Resistance: 1.000 ohms
Secondary Resistance: 12.7K ohms
Maximum Voltage: 42,000 volts
Inductance: ???
Turns Ratio: 76:1

Seems that i will still have to use the Accel Harness 140021ah with either of these coil for my truck. I maybe wrong here but isn't the lower resistance coil better as far as keeping in between tolerances or not. Can't remember??? Then again the Accel has a higher maximum voltage which iam guessing that has something to do with the turn ratio. Again not sure just comparing. Thanks for the other option, any other suggestions or inputs people can add.
