Subject: 99 Dakota brakes IP: Logged
Message: I own a 99 dodge dakota with 77k miles on it. Last week I changed the front pads and now everytime I drive to work and back I smell something burning. When I slow down in traffic I hear a grinding noise coming from the pass side. When I changed the pass side I pulled the caliper all the way off and notice the bolt that holds the line to the caliper has a hole going through it. Does this hole have to be facing a certain direction? When I put the new pads on could that of stuck the caliper? I need help

Message: The hole in the bolt can be in any position as long as it is tight. Why did you have to take the brake hose off of the caliper to change the pads? Did you bleed the brakes when you were done?

Message: A smell is normal for a few days. If you are hearing a grinding noise I would investigate. Are you seeing smoke from that passenger wheel?
