Message: I may be buying a 02 quad cab 2x4 3.9l.
At first look all sounded fine. After dealer cleaned the truck for delivery I took the test drive and now there is a engine noise that sounds like a lifter tic. Did not excede 5000 rpm on test drive. Is there anything I should watch for when the dealers techs say what could be wrong. Have not bought yet but really like the truck. oh yeah 42k miles. very clean truck. Carfax show 4 owners but 3 were dealers.
Are there any thoughts on changing from synthetic oil back to regular? Just a thought dont know if this truck used synth or not.
Thanks in advance and when i buy one look forward to reading all the info on these pages

Message: That ticking could be from slightly older gas. If it's been at a dealership for awhile, the gas might have been sitting for that long. Otherwise, I have a ticking sound on a 97 but I think it's related to spark knock due to a vaccum leak.
