Message: Tyler,
If you want to get more power from from your 88 dak here are a few suggestions:
The splitfire spark plugs run good in the daks. Get the standard split fires and gap them out to .045" of an inch, stock gap is .035". You can also run a MSD6a with an after market coil an get better performance as well as a mileage increase.
Run a K and N filter this will help alot.
Replace the stock cat. convertor with an aftemarket high flow convertor. and muffler and you will notice a big increase in power.
Good Luck.
92 and 97 Daks both with many mods.

Message: thanks alot I didnt even think of the coil and msd ignition. right now im working on getting some headders and re-doing the entire exhaust to 2 1/2" instead of the stock 2". also im running bosch platnum+4 spark plugs and thay made a big diffrence. the air intake was replaced with an open design(im going to change the filter to a K&N) and im running an electric fan. i have also disconnected the airpump and removed it.
thanks for the help
