I was reading old articles and I know my 87 dakota 3.9 v6 had 125hp but there was also a 125hp v6 2.8 in the first cherokee was that a H.O motor?

I had an 86 Cherokee with the 2.8. Dont know if it was an HO but it seemed to have more power than my cousins S10 with a 2.8 but it is hard to compare them. Being that the s10 was a 4 speed and the jeep a 5 speed they were probably about the same, plus his had more miles on it. Not a bad engine for a small car but it really didnt have much tourque. It was ok putting around town but on the highway it was a little underpowered. Like my dakota a lot better, and the jeep was kind of a deathtrap in my oppinion. It was just completly wore out.
