Message: I've read the Haynes explanation of releasing the fuel pressure before changing out the Throttle body. Grounding the #1 injector terminal and connecting a jumper wire between #2 terminal and battery. And bleed the system. Is this necessary, or is there and easier way.

Message: That's the safest way and it's really very easy. The alternative is to let the fuel spray all over and maybe get ignited by an electrical spark. Other that, just yank the fuel line off.

Message: Yes there is, pull the fuse for the fuel pump, pull off the gas cap, and then crank the engine over. If it starts run it til it dies, then for good measure, crank it a couple times more and viola! fuel and pressure gone.

Message: What year truck are we talking about?
I've got a 99 and fuel doesn't go into my throttle body it goes in the rail which injects it directly into the manifold.
I've taken my throttle body off numerous times. There is NOTHING to leak out of it.

Message: 1995, thinking about putting the F&B 48mm throttle body in and headers to get more pep. Just trying to be sure it's within my ability and that I do it right.
