Subject: Engine Cuts out IP: Logged
Message: hey guys. I recently did my crank sensor mod and i am not sure if this is the cause or not but i have a problem at WOT (wide open throttle). When i hit WOT and get to about 4k rpm the engine just cuts off completely. it doesnt seem to do it any time other then WOT if i let off the gas completely it will start back up but let out a huge backfire. and i really dont know why that would be? is my cps losing crank signal?

Message: If you were running WOT for 2 minutes with no relief in sight you would also pass out.
Once you woke up you would most likely puke before you could move again.
Point is, it's a speed/rev limiter. Also, why are you holding WOT in your garage or in your driveway with the hood up? Are you looking for a reason to blow up your V6?

Message: Well, maybe next time you think about adjusting something you know nothing about you will be a little more weary.
Obviously you messed something up. When you go adjusting something when it's not really needed you are only asking for trouble.
So, in my view you diserve this razzing.
Hopefully you can live without going over 40 mph now. Sucker....

Message: if u dont have anything useful to tell anyone, y dont u shut the hell up and start a talk trash-forum or something, dipshyt
but to help u out, the same thing was happening to my truck, except at about 3200 rpms, and later when it warmed up at about 2000, i re-did it and set it back a little, and now it runs fine, thats probably the answer to ur problem

Message: i adjusted it a little earlier today and moved it back a tad and all seems well so far so i think i got it. i'm not really sure that "Duh" has a clue what he is talking about though, i know completely well what i am doing and just thought i would get some input. sorry to say but i think "duh" needs to pick the battles he can win.

Message: ok well my problems have re-occurred, i have tried moving it back to the stock location and it still cuts out at about 3500-4000 rpm....not even necessarily at WOT. i am running out of options. It has to be the crank sensor, but what else can i do with it?
