I know this site is for dakotas but i can't find any for a 3.9 ram. The truck has 214,000 miles and i'm thinking over a rebuild and upgrades or a swap for a 318 or a 360. Any opinions suggestions and help, will be appreciated. And if upgrades, ... what? Also what will i have to do to the computer if swapped?

If you want to know what upgrades are available, all you have to do is click on any discussion and start reading. No one can tell you what choices to make.
Since you have a Ram, you have to figure out if you need to change your suspension and tranny to handle the V8. I don't think you will find that info here unless someone also owns a Ram.

Thanks for the links. I don't want anyone making my choices for me just suggestions of what i could do to make my engine a little more beefy. Like what combo of upgrades would give a good deal of horsepower for my 3.9. I like the idea of racing my dads 99 ram that has the 5.9 and beating him with just a little six cylinder. Also i figured the 3.9 dak and ram didn't have too many differences with the motor and tranny so someone might have known if the 318 would link up to the 3.9 transmission. Well once again thanks for the links and advice but more info on the best and prefferably cheapest (my pockets arent very deep to fish for money) ways to get the most out of my beloved 3.9, or swapping will be very greatly appreciated. I'll try the links for more info also.

Sorry, but a 3.9 is never going to beat a 5.9 if it's on a budget. Now maybe if you can score a supercharger or a couple of small turbos really cheap and you are a very talented individual, I could be wrong.

for what it's worth i doubt that v6 tranny would hold up to a 360
i like the 318's and 3.9's
ask yourself a few questions first
happy with the v6? was the power enough for what i needed it to do? gas milage ?
i have 2 dodge's a 94 DAk with a 3.9
and a 83 Ramcharger 4x4 with a 318
both trucks serve me diff. purposes
and i love them both, neither truck
will be going anywhere so long as i walk & breath! LOL
