Aloha dudes and duddettes,

I'm wanting to purchase a 6 month old Superchips Max MicroTuner for my 2000 Dakota V6 from a private sale? I was wondering if there is an update i should do before i bought it?
Will I see any difference if I had alot of bolt ons? any help is appreciated.

I would ask to test it and make sure it works on your truck (without needing an update) before you buy it. If it needs an update I believe it's free but you have to have bought it from an authorized dealer and you'll need the receipt and stuff I think.

I bought the micro tuner about a month ago and it's good paired with intake and exhaust done I think it would only conflict if you have any ignition mods, or any internal engine mods. Even on a stock truck I think you would still benefit. It is a little expensive for a small power gain, but it makes the truck seem to run better all around, even smoothed out some quirkiness I was having with my shift kit. Only problem I had with it is pinging. I had it on the max performance setting and ran strictly 93 octane like I'm supposed to (actually it said 91-93) and I started getting some pinging that got worse over time and gas milege dropped, so I had to set it down to the medium setting and that fixed it up. Just sucks that the power gain is almost lost but mileage is much better and the other improvements are still there.
