My front brakes shudder and vibrate when I apply them. I replaced the rotors a year ago and its doing it again. Its a 2wd 2000 dakota and I have problems with this problem since I've bought it new. Are there any ways to keep this from happening again?

Hand-torque the lug nuts, don't let a shop put them on with an air wrench.

I do. I rotate my own wheels and do my own brakes. I have always used a torque wrench and torqed them to the proper specs. I don't know what's going on.

Well i haven't tried this yet but i plan on it. I have the same problem with '01 2wd and a buddy told me it's the anitlock messed up, He told me to make sure nothing loose in the cab and get on a empty street and punch the gas and get up to about 50 and slam the brakes and that should correct the shudder problem...so he says lol. I trust he's not b.s.ing me about this he's been right about a remedy for every other little prob. iv had with it.....just make sure your on a road with plenty of room. I plan to go to a mall parking lot or something like that to give it a try.
