Subject: rear brake pads ? IP: Logged
Message: im changing my brake pads and noticed that 2 pads have more "pad" to them. When i checked the brakes on the truck it has 1 longer pad and 1 shorter pad on each side the only thing is the longer pad is on oppisite sides meaning 1 is on the back towards the bumper and towars the front on the other side. Is this correct? or should they both be towards the bumper?
thanks for the help

Message: They should be identically positioned, so one side must have them reversed. Can't remember which is which, but they must match, or they won't wear correctly and can cause shudder.
Once you make this mistake (whoever did it before you), you learn to photograph it first or remember how it came apart. Simple to goof.

Message: The primary brake shoe is the one with the shorter lining on it and should be toward the front of the vehicle.
