Message: Are there some conversion kits or adaptor kits to convert a 3.9L to a V-8 in a 1989 dakota sport?

Message: I have read some of the other "swaps" and I am now wondering if there is a difference in a convertable dakota set up and a regular dokata set up. Because I have a 89 sport convertable that I have rebuilt the motor allready once, dont think it will tolerate another rebuild.

Message: just get a premag v-8 for it and bulid that up, should bolt in. but if i am not mistaken the magnum blocks have the bolt holes to bolt on the LA style motor mounts, so you may be able to drop a mag 5.2 or 3.9 in it. computer and wiring will be completely different for the mpi instead of the tbi. so you can look at alot of work, but it can be done.

Message: Found out I had a h2o leak by the water pump, replaced pump on the 3.9L and still have water coming out of somewhere on the front drivers side down low on the motor.Checked all hoses and other stuff. Any thoughts to what it could be????

Message: Can anyone tell me if there is a seal or gasket by or around the water pump that would tend to leak? The leak is not the water pump or the pump gasket. It looks like it is coming from a bolt below the pump on the drivers side

Message: I had the same water leak problem, the front intake manifold bolt on the drivers side, leaks, take it out, put some rtv on it and re-torque.
it should solve your problem...if that is not your problem then i would pressure test it, and look for the leak, maybe a freeze plug?
