I am looking at Flowmaster's Super 40 series muffler or Dynomax's Super Turbo muffler. I am big on a load V8 tone but I also like a performance increase. Which muffler should I buy? If you know the part # it would really help. If you know of a muffler that is really deep please buy all means speack up. Thank you.

Also is the stock muffler welded in place or could I just take out the stock muffler and replace it with whatever muffler i go with? If it isnt welded in how hard is it to change out the mufflers and how would I do that? Sorry for all the questions I just want to make sure I do not do anything thing wrong.

brandon, you didn't mention yr model but, i don't believe they welded the muff on any year dak. at least not on my '00. hell, i bought a $20 Cherry Bomb turbo muff and installed it with an extra piece of 2.5" pipe the make it the same length as stock. really easy, really cheap and I am happy with the way it sounds. that's all that matters to me. it's low rumble at idle and sounds good 'til about 3 grand.

Can I use a Dynomax Super Turbo muffler #17733? Could I install the muffler myself(not able to use a welder)? What kind of things would I need to get the job done?

Hi Guys,
I just bought a 1999 Dakota Sport club cab with 3.9L and I would like to sell the Flowmaster Dual Exhaust thats installed on it. Its in great shape....How is $50 or trade for the factory exhaust (131 in. WB) I'm in Hampton Roads VA.

I have a 98 v6 and I installed the jba 3" cat back exhaust from truckperformance.com. Even though I paid $35 to ship it, it still took 3 weeks to come in, and I found out that the exhaust they sent me was too long AFTER I removed the stock exhaust. Lesson learned: check the fit first. I was still able to use it though, I just cut about 9" off my cat pipe and it rumbles like a v8 now. People don't believe its only a v6. The only price I paid is now my cat stinks once in a while and I need o2 sensors.
