Message: With a free-flow muffler and cold air intake you will gain about 5 hp. I have both and they sound great, but do not really add any performance. I reccomend looking at the DynoMax SuperTurbo 17748. It sounds great on the Dakota 3.9.

Message: 5 HP? You must be doing something wrong. The exhaust itself should be giving you 8-10 HP, but coupled with an intake it should be running up on 16-18 HP.

Message: Do not expect to get the gains that are advertized by the manufacturer. On a vehicle with many mods you may see an 8-10 hp gain by just changing the muffler. On a basically stock truck you won't see much difference. There is no way you are going to gain almost 20 hp by changing just the muffler and the intake.
However, those mods will give you nice gains if you do them in conjunction with some other mods. Larry posted some time ago on what to expect form certain mods and what order is best to do them in. See if you can find it.
