Not to my knowledge... I was able to put a single-in dual-out 40 series Flowmaster onto mine with no problems.

what year is your truck and is it a 3.9L I just stopped and looked into the flowmaster and the guy told me it's no good for V-6 sounds bad well thats how he feels I'm still going to get it

1999 3.9L V6, yep. It sounds pretty pissed off. I may be able to get a sound clip together if you're interested.

I wish I could get a sound clip of mine...but I don't have a laptop and I'm sure my neighbor would LOVE me if I backed the truck up through her front yard to get to my window where my computer is. lol
I like my Flowmaster 40 series a lot and no, you don't need to change the cat converter.

dude i got the flow on my Dakota, and i love it. i still play with it even though ive had it on there for awhile. almost everyone i know like my exhaust to, its fairly loud. i beleive it might be the 40 series not sure though. i love it though!
