I have a 3.9L in my 98 sport and want to do a cat back. Any one know how the 3.9 would sound with a dynomax ultra flow(17221) with 3" single pipe. i want to go out in front of the rear wheel so i am doing the work my self. I want ultra flow or a super turbo if it sounds better. I want a quiet cab but i dont want to sound like a cheap honda. it needs to be a tuff v8 sound. lend me some info please. Chris

Chris I looked up the part # you listed above this muffler is 19" long. First unless you are running a SC on your V6 you don't want anything bigger than 2.5 or you will kill your low end TQ
I would have to think the # you listed and exiting in front of the rear wheels would not be very quite in the cab. The first one I used was a Super Turbo #17733 18" long and it had an anoying buzz in the cab at low RPM's like around town it was ok out on the road or highway. After putting up with the buzz for about a month I changed it to a #17748 25" long, this muffler isn't loud but it gives a nice rumble to the V6 and is hardly noticed in the cab it also helped the low end over the 18" muffler.

good luck
Dan
