Message: hey,
I was wondering if any of you guys knows what the stall rpm on the stock a500 converter was with the 3.9? my converter took a crap and took out the tranny...$1620 worth of repairs and i think the new converter he put in is a 2k rpm stall...truck is alot more peppy..just wondered if it was that way stock or if mine was screwed up for the past three years.
And i need anybodys ideas on how to get some mpg out of my dak. 16 hwy.. thanks

Message: I think the FSM says it's 1800-2100 RPMs.
I have your same truck but stock, with cap, and get 16 mpg city, 20 highway. It's all about taking it easy with your right foot, and obeying the speed limit. Fun vs. good mileage.

Message: Bob, Do you know the part number for the NAPA tool you use for adjusting the bands on the Dakota transmissions. I swore I thought i saw you post the number before. I have searched on all the boards high and low and I can't find the number. Thanks for your input in advance.

Message: ive tried being extremely nice to the right pedal...it doesnt help very much. ive drove with a cap on my truck before with no increase in mileage. i really cant figure out why i cant get 20, if i am nice to it i can only get 17 hwy. truck runs like a champ..just loves its gas with a helping of cash.
