Subject: Optional Tire Sizes IP: Logged
Message: I have a 99 with 275-60-15s on the stock wheels and i was wondering if anyone has the same deal. I got the truck used so i don't know if the speedometer is calibrated. I have driven it for 2 years without speeding tickets, so i assume im fine (minus the 100mph ticket). The sticker on the door says it came with 215-50-15. Anyone else had this?

Message: are you sure that sticker doesn't say 215/75/15?
275/60/15 = 28" tall
215/75/15 = 27.7" tall
diff of 1.1%
speedo reading = 60 mph
actual speed = 59.4 mph

Message: Here's my 2 cents
Optional tire sizes from the factory were the 235/70/15's usually found on the 15x7 (five spokes) cast rims.
And the 255/65/15's on the 15x8 rims (five spokes w/ small slot in each spoke(10spokes))
I believe that the 215/75's are most often found on the steel wheels which are often found on company fleet trucks.
The thing w/ the 255/65/15's are there are only 2 choices in tires the Goodyear (OneYear's) Eagle LS or the Perelli scorpion's which suck in the snow.I think that you have 275/60/15's as a cost and choice replacement thing. What brand 275/60's do you have? And how do you like them? I'll be looking for tires in the summer.

Message: I ran 255/75/15 for a year, had a buddy drive beside me, when I was going 45, it was actualy 50, at 75 it was actually 85. My truck calls for 215/75/15s, I just put on 235/75/15 goodyear wranglers, they run great

Message: to gears:
i have goodyear's eagle GTII in the front and kelly radial g/t in the rear for better traction in the rain and snow. They run decent but look sweet from the rear (nice and wide). The kinda suck in rain w/o weight in the bed and really suck in winter, so it is def a summer tire size
