I changed my oil pressure today. I used synthetic oil and a high efficiency oil filter. my oil pressure is a little higher than it was before.

My pressure gage is not real specific, it goes from 0 far left to 40 middle to 110 far right. it is running about 3/4 to right.

what is the proper pressure range.

the pressure i am talking about came at about 50mph.

2000 3.9 stock......thanks in advance

kevin

I have a '95 and switched to synthetic and have not noticed any difference in oil pressure other than when i first turn the vehicle on, it sometimes is a little high or little low. I recall a few posts about the pressure being different when switching to synthethics. Have you checked the oil a few times to make sure it's really full?

I have a 95 3.9L,with 123,500. I run 3/4 on my gage all the time. I dont't think it's a bad thing. I would say it's a good thing. If your running high oil press, one thing I can say is your pumps not bad. I get nervous when its not running there.

It's 75 psi.

Think of the 3/4 mark as this
The difference 0f 110-40 is 70,half of 70 is 35 (the half way point)now 40+35 is 75psi

hope that helps

Your oil pressure is just fine, go find something else to worry about.
