Recheck your wires...it sounds like they're on backwards. (On the fan block - front of the fan)

no, they aren't on backwards... I think its the sensor. I have it by the upper hose on the driver's side. I think and hope this is right. If not, tell me where to put it. Thanks.

My sensor (from my BM-150) is through the radiator core right next to the upper radiator hose.

From what you described about the fan turning on/off with the A/C clutch, you've got a "+" lead connected wrong somewhere. The fan can be turned ON simply by turning the knob on the front of the fan.

Tony,

Try this to verify that the fan block is working properly:

Run a 12v source to the "+" terminal, a 12v source to the "B" terminal, and a ground to the "G" terminal on the fan block. Ignore the manual switch and a/c switch ("C" and "M"). Turn the dial and the fan should come on.

I run mine this way which allows for "cool down" even if the engine is off. (Switch is set at 165 degrees...set yours to approximately 180.)

Bernd, Have you come up with a good installation for the 2001 trucks yet? Last I heard there was an issue with the PCM.

the plus leads are connected fine... I checked over and over trust me. I used the switch terminal with a switch and it works then. It just doesn't work with the sensor thing. The truck was at 200 degrees+. The switch worked fine. Now the A/C story is different--> I turn the A/C on and the clutch thing turns on and off u know the pulley turns and stops turning and the fan shuts on and off simultaneously with it. I don't know what's going on!

I have the same problem with my black magic. Temp controler is not working. I have it hooked to a switch for now, but I want the temp controler to work it. I tried what you said bernd but it didn't turn on no matter if I turn the knob either.

Also which wire is the positive AC wire. The black one or the black with white stripe on it.

If the fan won't turn on at any temp it sounds like you may have accidentally kinked the capillary tube for the sensor. Did you put it in the area of the inlet hose and attach the cap on the sensor? The cap keeps cool air off it which may trick it into reading a cooler temp. Also it's normal for the fan to run while the a/c compressor is running then shut off when it stops. The airflow helps condense the refrigerant inside the condenser.
