ported and polished

crower 1.6 rev kit
4.10 sure grip and a 2200rpm stall
A 518 TCI TransScat 220500 shift kit
309/322 at the wheels
works out to a 292 4.7 liter V6 and its fast
no 1/4 mile runs yet but a lot quicker than my
last stroker
comes on strong at 2500 3000rpm to about 5800
running with my ASE chip computer the mopar V6
comp only showed 298hp
The ASE I have had for a long time sent it back
to increase the fuel but would not run right on
my last stroker

Message: This is the perfect example for some of these "need mod suggestion" posts that you can get good power from a V6 but it takes more than simple bolt ons.

Message: Way to go Larry. You keep refining the mods necessary to make the v-6 a power house. over 300 horses that is awsome. do you plan any more tweaks to this stroker or do you think it is maxed out?

Message: Hey Larry, any word on where the general public can get the stroked crank shaft that you are using. I'm actually in the process of looking for one, and I don't want to pay the 2K stroker kit's is asking for the billet one they make.

Message: that's so awesome larry. i'd like to hear too where you got the crank, rods and pistons from and who you got the cam from. that's gonna be my future plan. i've already got the 4.10 and suregrip! sounds a whole lot better to me than swapping for a 318 and getting 12mpg!
how about the 2200 tq converter. what brand? how's that compared to stock?
where's your shop at larry? feel like doing the labor on a red '02 dakota v6 sometime?

Its pricy though. Might be cheaper to build a 360/408 Stroker

I couldn't agree with you more! It's alot more difficult to get those numbers out of a v6!
Great work Larry, keep it up :-P

Message: I know, about the Strokerkits.com crank, but it is a billet one, I had no idea that You had that crank up for sail Larry, If I had, I'd definately would have bought it. I've been rebuilding my 92 v6, and that would be great, especially behind the Ax-15 that I beffed up. Anyways, nice job on that motor, I now know what I have to do. Time to start saving up my pennies. Thanks for the inspiration Larry. Let us know what the track times are when you get out there. Oh and by the way is there any ways we can get intouch with you via the phone or internet for some advice on how to set up our stroker package? Thanks again.

Message: Thanks DodgeBoy, I kinda figured that, what all are you doing to your motor that is in progress. I've completed the premagnum to magnum v6 swap, and now I want to pack as much power as I can into it. Any idea's other than the obvious, N2O, and the stroker crank that I'm looking into. I've done a lot of the cheaper mods already. Now I guess it's time to spend some big money. Thanks again for the info.

Message: Larry, I know your stroker is where you want it for power. Just curious, what grade of gas are running with it and what kind of mileage are you getting. You very good at getting both out these Daks. Are you still running your PVI with it. Thanks in advance for any information given

No pvi on it yet but will be soon it seams to be
pulling around 19mpg just driving normal at high
way speeds don't forget I still lockup at around
60mph or I can shut that and overdrive off with
switchs in the cab
Only has just over 1000 miles needs to break in
and losen up a little gets prety wild over 3000
rpm with snow on the roads cant shift without
breaking lose

Message: Larry did you get your crank from the guys at strokerkits.com, or did you custom build it. Also 19 mpg is great. With some daks that's better than stock. Can't wait to hear some track times. Thanks for the inspiration. I hope to be stroked by next summer. Right now I'm looking at buying new pistons and geting the Nitrous spray dialed in. After that, it's time to get stroked.

Message: I know this is a little off topic and I only got a 2.5 but 87DakBuilder how did you beef up your AX-15? I have a AX-15 behind my 2.5 and if I ever swap in a turbo charged 2.5, I would like to how much that AX-15 could take.
