i posted on here b4 but i was a dumbbutt at the time. i have a 1990 dodge dakota LE. i do not have third and fourth gear (auto), in drive or overdrive.
i have checked transmission fluid while it was idling and it has plenty. the only the i havent checked is the modulator valve, which my friend was telling me could be the problem. i can push 90 M.P.H
in second, without a whining noise. Is there anything else that im missing, or do i need to replace my transmission altogether?
ANY HELP WILL BE GOOD

is your linkage sticking it in second and not drive? it could possibly be your linkage.

yes my linkage is off by a notch, i never really thought of that as the problem
