Subject: Engine will crank over but won't start! IP: Logged
Message: Hi Everyone. Hopefully someone can help me out. Was on the freeway and my check engine light came on. Turn off the engine, to get some bait. Went to start the truck, cranks over but won't start. Did the OBDII scanner thing and it read PASS no trouble codes but when I do the "on, off, on, off, on", I get a code of "12" and that's it with no end code of 55. When I try the other test by holding down the trip odometer reset button I get the code 950 then 999. I've been reading alot the post here but I'm hoping someone can give a good place to start. Can it be the "crankshaft position" sensor? or the "speed sensor"? Will these sensors keep my truck from starting. (Checked fuel line, seem to be all good)...This is my first post. Didn't think I would have to post a question in the forum cause I get all my answers from previous post. 1997 Dodge Dakota SLT Quad Cab V-6 3.9L
Thanks for taking the time to read my post. Jay in the CA
