Subject: Why are 3.92 gears better than 3.55. IP: Logged
Message: I was wondering because someone told me that it would give me better traction and a faster start. I also want to now if I decide to get 3.92 gears what company makes the best or does mopar have something I can use.

Message: On the traction part, that's entirely up to the engine, tires, and driver (HP, how high on the rpm's you're starting it at, and how sticky the rear tires are).
Mopar, MotiveGear, Richmond Gear...all have the correct sets for your axle. (8.25" or 9.25" depending on what was stuck into your Dakota...more than likely a Chrysler 8.25".)
