I have a 2000 3.9L dakota with 85,000 miles.

I was going to change the plugs soon. I noticed that most on this board like autolite 3923, while the car part stores say to use ap5224.

My question is. Which is better for my truck? and what will the difference be? Which would be best for fuel milage.

Thanks
Kevin

AP3923 is one heat ranger cooler than stock...if you got a bit of the basic mods, you could try them. If your truck is stock, the AP5224 is what you should prolly use.

also, the ap3923 is a regular size plug, while the 5224 is sometimes called a "truck" plug - its a bit longer.

my truck is stock 2001 slt 3.9 except for flowmaster 50 delta and a brass rotor/cap and k&n filter. would i be better off with 3923 or 5224? i want to change the wires too. pep boys has borg warner coppers for $49 is there a set of wires i would see better performance with like taylors and what model? dont want to spend more than $80-$90. i dont care if they last 100k miles i just want rich smooth performance.
thanks

MSD 8.5's do seem to be pretty well liked on here...I just used a cheap set of Bosch ones from Autozone and since I don't have any real ignition upgrades besides the brass cap/rotor and Splitfire plugs, I didn't feel it was necessary to spend a crapload on wires. Anyway, bout the plugs...since your truck is basically stock I'd say go with AP5224's. You could try the AP3923's...they may run fine, all trucks react different to them. Gap em around .040.

I have no after market engine modifications and run the autolight wires. No problems from them. Good stock replacement. I'm also using the stock autolight plugs, have been for several years.
