Message: A lot of people use the Autolite 3923's. I use them with Taylor 8mm wires. Are you also going to changed the cap and rotor? Napa has some good ones. That might be a good idea while your at it. I have never had a problem with this set up. There are several different good plugs to go with. That is my 2 cents. Unless you go with cheap plugs and wires you should be ok.

Message: i use the Borg Warner cap & rotor w/brass inserts.
Bosch platinum tipped plugs gapped @ .050".(3920 i think is the number). any good set of performance wires will be ok for a stock set up. just try to get the ones with least resistance.

Message: They aren't that expensive. Both together would be about 15 from Napa. Cap is about 10 and rotor is 3. If you are going to change plugs and wires, I would cahnge the cap and rotor also. If it is worn then having the best plugs and wires won't matter. They are kind of a pain to get to, but worth it. If you do it remember where all the wires went.

Message: You could also try MSD Spark plug wires. Part No. 32969. Specs 8.5mm @ 50ohms per foot...great spark. They run about $75-$85 depending where you get them.

Message: Accell makes a "kit" that includes wires, plugs, dist cap and rotor button.
I'm using the kit but not the plugs. Instead-
Autolite plat 3923s.
My kit had the wrong button. I think they had the wrong part in the right box. Anyway, Jeg's gave me credit, since I had to go local to get the correct button.

Message: I went to autozone and got the cheap 20 dollar wire set with a lifetime warranty and the OEM replacement Champion spark plugs. The whole deal costs less than 35 bucks. I tried the platinum plugs and two of them were bad out of the 6 that I bought, no lie, it was throwing a check eng. light. Anyway, I think expensive spark plugs make no noticeable difference, you may save like four cents per year on gas and gain .00023 peak horsepower. Save your money for lunch when you're hungry. Also as stated before, go ahead and replace the rotor button and distributor cap for another 10 bucks. Some other people have also had a problem with the hall effect pickup under the distributor cap too, if you're feeling bored, it was 30 bucks.
