Message: Try checking spark plugs/gap(.040) and/or spark plug wires. Other than that the only thing i can think of right off hand is a vacuum leak.

Message: having the same problem. Hoping it's not the ignition module. I'm going to try the timing position sensor (is that the right technical name?) tomorrow. Let me know if you find a cure.

Message: I have the same thing, and attribute it to a loose timing chain, but I haven't verified yet. Mine's a 96 and has never had the chain replaced, so it might need the tensioner.
If you try it and it fixes the problem, can you PLEASE let me know - I would love to get to mine when I get the time!

Message: what year was your truck azdak? I don't think mine has an EGR (it's a 1997 3.9l 4x4 auto cc) But I've been having the same exact problem, & I've found no fix. I already replaced the TPS, CPS, cleaned the TB, did the spark plug/cap/rotor/wire/hall effect pickup thing...color me lost. If in fact I do have an EGR though, how much did that cost ya?

Message: 1992, $80 at napa, I replaced fuel filter, fuel pump, fuel regulator, plug wires, dist cap & rotor, TPS with no luck. Found the distributor was damaged (below stator) replaced it along with new stator and still ran terrible until replacing EGR. If your year has one just pull the vacuum hose (connected to the EGR) to check...

Message: sorry i meant "uh jake" not jake, didnt mean to call you an idiot. and as for the fix of your truck i really am not sure what to tell you, its most likely an electrical issue dealing with spark, i would say maybe you coil. sometimes when they act a little bit funny when they are dieing and can cause similar problems.
